Hottest Home Amenities for Buyers

Most who know anything about home real estate know that buyers want kitchens outfitted with stainless steel and granite, open concept homes, and a workable floor plan. But what else tops today’s home buyers’ lists?

The National Association of Home Builders and PulteGroup set out to answer that question when they conducted a survey of buyers nationwide. Here’s what they found!

  • Laundry Rooms with Flair: Laundry rooms have come a long way since their humble beginnings. No longer is it just a swept away place for a washer and dryer; laundry rooms are now a centralized hub. A hub for doing laundry, but also folding and ironing – maybe even crafting and bill paying. Not only do North Texas buyers want the space to be functional, but they want it to be as pretty as the rest of the home. This means decorator touches, upgraded appliances and cabinets, built-ins, etc. Many also have adjacent mudrooms for all the stuff that comes in and out of the home daily.

  • Walk-in closets: Storage. Storage. Storage. Dallas buyers want storage, and no surprise, they want a lot of it – particularly in the master bedroom. 31% of buyers surveyed said they’d gladly sacrifice something else within the home if they could get his and hers closets in the master. More storage = happy families.

  • Higher Ceiling Height: In line with buyers wanted open concept homes, buyers want to add more of that airy feel to their home by requesting 9-10 ft. tall ceilings on the first floor of the home. It’s a custom home look, common in many Dallas-Fort Worth new construction homes today. Another interesting find on ceiling height? Cathedral-style, soaring ceilings in the family room are out. Buyers want a cozy family room feel and don’t like paying to heat and cool such an open space.

  • Energy Efficiency is a Must: Not only do today’s new home buyers want beautiful houses, but they want a home that is efficient and good for the environment. Many builders today have really embraced this and are putting a plethora of green choices within their new construction home packages.

Multimillion Dollar Homes Coming to Corinth, Texas

“One of a kind.”

“Eclipses anything in the metroplex, as far as I know.”

“It will rival anything in Highland Park.”

These are statements that George Ducas – chief construction officer for Lelege USA – has used to describe a new, mega luxury community being built in Corinth, Texas.

Set to open in 2016, the development is called Long Lake, located off of Swisher Road and  bordering Lake Lewisville, almost equidistance from 2499 and 35E.

The neighborhood won’t be your typical high-end neighborhood.  While it will have 108 luxury home sites, it will also include a man-made lake and 13 acres filled with restaurants, retail shopping, office space, walking trails, and more. The total project will span a whopping 107 acres.

Another thing that makes this neighborhood one of a kind? Lelege USA – the developer of the project and a subsidiary of Hong Kong based Lelege Group – is spending most of its marketing dollars abroad, focusing on bringing affluent Chinese immigrants to the United States and giving them a comfortable place to call home. Lelege Group refers to the project as “America’s first Chinese-themed gated and guarded community.” With easy access to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Love Field, Long Lake will provide its residents with a premier community just a quick drive from anywhere they need to be.

The City of Corinth welcomes this new venture, as Corinth Mayor Paul Ruggiere explained:

“It will make a very strong economic impact. People who can afford these homes will bring a great deal of spending power, and the homes will bring in quite a bit of tax revenue to the city and the [Lake Dallas] school district.”

New construction homes in Long Lake will range from 7,000 – 10,000 square feet in size and will come with an average sticker price of $2 million. The homes are designed by graduates of the award winning Qinghua Architectural University in Beijing.
