Village Homes using the motto “Homes of Character.” And ‘homes of character” is right on the money! These are not your typical, builder grade homes. These are custom homes with custom features and charm that you cannot find in a spec grade home.

Founded in 1996 in Fort Worth, Texas, Village Homes was founded by Michael Dike and Jim Harris, two men who saw that the production builder market had its place, but both wanted to do more. They saw a hole in the market and sought to create their own custom niche. Building close relationships with top architects, craftsmen, contractors, and vendors in the area – combined with their own knowledge and expertise – Dike and Harris began creating homes that had timeless craftsmanship, innovative features, and quality construction. Today’s buyers want charm and modern efficiencies, and Village Homes gives the buyer just that.

Village Homes is currently building around North Texas, specifically in the Oaks of Argyle, Texas, Viridian in Arlington, Texas, and the Crestwood area of Fort Worth, Texas. Each community has amazing amenities, and fits your needs whether you are looking for a home in the city, or something more rural.

Open houses for 3 amazing homes – in these 3 wonderful neighborhoods – will take place this Saturday, January 18, from 2-4pm. Addresses are as follows:

  • 1203 Viridian Park Lane – Arlington, Texas

The Hues of 2015

Everyone from home décor magazines to paint manufactures has thrown their hat in the ring on what the “Color of 2015” should be for the home. From greens to navys to bring purples, there are a plethora of choices that could spice up your home.

Benjamin Moore: Guilford Green – HC-116

guiliford green

Guilford Green is a subtle, serene green with grey undertones that just melds well into any décor. Benjamin Moore predicts that colors this year will be muted, with blues, plums, and greens gaining traction has peaceful colors in the home. They recommend that when designing your home, pick a color, and then use various shades of the same color throughout the home to add warmth and tie things together.

Elle Décor: Wood Violet – Pantone 19-3325

A punchy purple, Wood Violet is just one of the pantone colors that Elle Décor predicts we’ll see more of in our homes in 2015. Elle Décor’s palette of colors is bold and vibrant, with lots of bright colors intermingled with muted, complimentary greys and browns. Another color they recommend – Tangerine. Maybe not for the walls per se, but we could see it used for upholstery or accent pieces.

Behr – Purples & Blues

Behr offers several 2015 palettes to use in the home, each one with varying colors of purple and blue. From bright and bold – to soft and neutral – Behr offers shades that will compliment any design style. One such color on the palette that we love: Seared Grey – T15-2. A casual navy, this color works well to join neutral and more vibrant colors alike.

Sherwin Williams – Coral Reef – SW-6606

Sherwin Williams believes we’ll see a resurgence of reds, oranges, and pinks, and Coral Reef is the perfect meld of all three. It’s tranquil, but also adds the right splash of color to the home.
